“Dancing With The Stars” has been airing for more than 30 seasons. During that time, there have been several celebrities who have tried their hand at ballroom dancing. However, only a select handful have actually won the Mirror Ball Trophy. Now, former “DWTS” pro dancer turned judge Derek Hough says he wants to see an all-winners season of the show.
Fans have been watching the reality TV dance competition for several years and viewers likely all have their favorite winners from the past. With Season 32 quickly approaching, Hough thinks it may be time for something a bit different. As the winningest pro in “DWTS” history, Hough would love to see past winners return to the ballroom in a best-of-the-best showdown.
Derek Hough wants an all-winners season of Dancing With The Stars
“I think that it’d be a really, really competitive season,” Hough told Variety. The dancer/judge revealed that he’d love to see some of her former partners such as Bindi Irwin or Nicole Scherzinger return for an all-winners season. “I think [Season 24 winner] Rashad Jennings would love to come back,” Hough continued.. “[Season 9 winner] Donny Osmond, I know he’d probably love to come back, too. Even [Season 25 winner] Jordan Fisher, who was fantastic,” he added.
Other fan-favorite “Dancing With The Stars” winners over the years include Iman Shumpert, Bobby Bones, Laurie Hernandez, Rumer Willis, Amber Riley, Jennifer Grey, Shawn Johnson, Emmit Smith, and Kelly Monaco.
This would be first time that “DWTS” had an all-winners season. However, the show did air an all-star cast during Season 15. The show brought back former fan favorites and winners to compete, with Melissa Rycroft taking home the trophy. Most recently, Charli D’Amelio was crowned the champ of Season 31 with Mark Ballas as her partner.
What we know about DWTS Season 32
Meanwhile, fans know that Season 32 won’t be an all-winners season as “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix has already been announced as the season’s first official cast member (via Gold Derby). In addition, after airing exclusively on Disney+ in Season 32, the show will be moving back to ABC and there will be some changes. Tyra Banks will no longer host the reality competition. Instead, Alfonso Ribero and Derek Hough’s sister, Julianne Hough, will be his co-host. Julianne is a former pro dancer and judge on the show, so she’ll fit right in. Sadly, the show’s head judge Len Goodman will also be absent. Goodman announced his retirement during Season 32 of the show and tragically died a few months later.
“Dancing With The Stars” fans would likely love to see an all-winners season in the future. Derek Hough has a great idea, so ABC should totally make it happen.
