“Dancing With The Stars” Season 32 is right around the corner, and fans will see some big changes to the show. The most prominent change will be the absence of former head judge Len Goodman. The ballroom dancing icon announced his retirement from the series in Season 31. He sadly died a few short months later. However, instead of adding a new judge to the panel, the reality show opted to stand pat with Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Toniolli. However, Cheryl Burke wanted the job.
Burke is beloved by “DWTS” fans, and was even the professional dancer to have a repeated win on the series. Over the years, Burke has become a staple in the ballroom. However, at the end of Season 31 she revealed her retirement from the show and performed her last dance. Burke made no secret that she would have liked to move into another position in the ballroom, possibly even Goodman’s vacated judge seat. However, that wasn’t the case for the dancer.
Cheryl Burke opens up about her status on Dancing With The Stars
Cheryl Burke previously opened up about the fact that “Dancing With The Stars” didn’t give her a promotion. “They don’t see a place for me,” Cheryl told Chris Jericho’s podcast “Talk Is Jericho.” Burke revealed that the show knew she wanted to move up the ranks. “Whether that’s at the judge’s table or as a possible co-host, and that’s okay. I’m grateful, thank you for this experience, but I’m going to move forward,” she added.
Burke went on to explain that her age and current life situation contributed to her decision to leave the dancing competition. “I can no longer continue doing this. I am also in a period of my life where I am newly divorced, and I am working on me, and I want to learn and evolve in general. She added, “I want to learn again.”
Julianne Hough is joining DWTS as co-host in Season 32
Meanwhile, “Dancing With The Stars” Season 32 is going to look a bit different. In addition to Len Goodman being gone, the show has parted ways with host Tyra Banks. The model hosted the series for two seasons, being joined by former champ Alfonso Riberio in Season 31. However, she’s not left the series and Derek Hough’s sister, Julianne Hough, has taken her place.
Julianne is a former “Dancing With The Stars” pro dancer and winner. She also previously sat at the judges panel, making her a perfect partner for Riberio in Season 32.
