The late 70s teen idol David Cassidy’s ashes have yet to be laid to rest and it is causing an uproar among some of Cassidy’s family members and fans according to TMZ.
David Cassidy, as previously reported died by Blasting News the former teen idol died on November 21, 2017, at the age of 67 from multiple organ failure due to complications of alcoholism. The report stated that David Cassidy passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones after being rushed to a Fort Lauderdale, Florida hospital. Cassidy was created soon after his death and have been sitting in a cremation unit ever since.
This issue has become a very touchy and sore subject among family, friends, and fans who have blasted by David Cassidy’s ex, Maura Rossi for allegedly disrespecting David. Rossi claimed that she has been so upset by the matter that she has been unable to eat or sleep. However, TMZ claims that there is a very good reason behind David Cassidy’s ashes remaining in storage.
The celebrity news site reveals that a source close to the family of David Cassidy has claimed that since David’s death, it had been decided all along that they would wait until summer to spread Cassidy’s ashes throughout one of his favorites spots… The Saratoga Race Course in
Saratoga Springs.
The family claims that since David was such a horse racing enthusiast and it was one of his favorite pastimes they wanted to spread his ashes someplace he truly loved to be.
Though it has not been officially confirmed to date, it has been speculated that the scattering of Cassidy’s ashes will most likely take place on August 18, when Saratoga hosts the “David Cassidy Memorial Race.”
It has been a hard time for the family and fans who continue to mourn the loss of David. Especially after the news broke that David Cassidy had been misleading his family and friends by claiming he had been diagnosed with dementia and had remained sober from alcohol for the past few years.
In early June, just days before the airing of A&E’s documentary entitled “David Cassidy: The Last Session” on June 11, it was revealed that David had “lied” to everyone and the real cause of his death was organ failure due to alcoholism.
