‘Days of Our Lives’: Alison Sweeney Talks Returning As Sami, Will’s Death

Days of Our Lives” fans sorely miss Alison Sweeney’s character, Sami Brady. Sami was the bad girl with a heart of gold, and fans loved to watch her get herself in and out of trouble. However, Sweeney, along with her on-screen husband, James Scott, who played EJ DiMera left the show in 2014.

Alison Sweeney Dishes On Possible ‘Days of Our Lives’ Return

Now, Alison is dishing on the possibility of her returning to Salem as Sami Brady, as well as a huge character death that she completely disagreed with. Sweeney reveals that she would “certainly consider” returning to “Days of Our Lives” as Sami one day.

The actress already returned once after her departure to help celebrate the soap’s big 50th anniversary. Sami came home, and got herself into a little bit of trouble by stealing Stefano and Andre DiMera’s fortune. Later, Sami came home yet again for the funeral of her son, Will Horton, which was one of the saddest deaths on “Days of Our Lives” in years.

Many viewers couldn’t believe that the soap would kill off Will, who was both a Brady and a Horton, as well as the show’s first gay character. The decision angered many fans, as well as Alison Sweeney.

Sweeney Still Angry About Will Horton’s Death

“I thought it was a huge mistake to kill Will, especially for the show’s 50th anniversary. I still makes me angry when I think about it,” the actress revealed.

However, people come back from the “dead” all the time on “Days of Our Lives,” and Will could always pop up sometime in the future, especially now that his husband, Sonny Kiriakis, played by Freddie Smith, is returning to the show later this year.
