“Days of Our Lives” fans are seemingly about to get some brand new characters. It appears that Salem will be flooding with a group of new faces in the very near future. A casting leak has been revealed, and it shows that the Peacock soap opera has some big plans and storylines in store for viewers.
Recently, “DOOL” viewers have seen the returns of characters like Theresa Donovan (Jen Liley), Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin), and Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker). However, fans are about to get some new and much younger blood in Salem. A casting call for the sudser states that the show is looking for several young actors to portray Salem teenagers.
Days of Our Lives casting call should get fans excited for big storylines
The “Days of Our Lives” casting call states that actors between the ages of 18 and 22 are being sought after to portray high school students. The soap hasn’t had a strong teen scene since Belle, Mimi, Philip, Shawn, and Brady were young. However, they did try to create one with the likes of Tripp, Ciara, Claire, Theo, and Joey. Unfortunately, that didn’t last long.
So what does this mean for the show? The upcoming teen character likely won’t be unfamiliar. There are plenty of Salem offspring that can be rapidly aged to fit the teenage bill. Brady Black’s two children, Tate and Rachel, could easily be cast with older actors. Chad DiMera’s kids, Thomas and Charlotte, would be great candidates for aging Salem teens. In addition, Chloe Lane’s son, Parker, Nicole Walker’s daughter Holly, and Gabi Hernandez’s daughter Ariana would be interesting new additions to the cast as well.
New-look legacy characters likely set to hit Salem in the near future?
When Belle, Shawn, Philip, and the rest of the gang were teens, the storylines were wild. However, “Days of Our Lives” didn’t deliver the same level of excitement for the characters’ children. Hopefully, the new batch of Salem teenagers can offer up something new and exciting for viewers.
Fans know that Rachel Black is the daughter of Brady and Kristen. She’s already made her sassy side known. As a teen, Rachel would likely be a very interesting character who would likely cause trouble for those around her. Tate’s mother, Theresa, is also a known troublemaker. So, Tate and Rachel could be some of the most interesting new characters to arrive in Salem. Thomas and Charlotte’s parents consist of a DiMera and a Deveraux, making them an interesting mix of wholesome and devious.
