However, those characters are often shuffled around in a revolving door of casting. Although some come and go, others have seemingly been lost for good. However, there are characters that many fans would love to see return. Of course, their comebacks would shock Salem to its core.
Days of Our Lives fans want Daniel Jonas back
Although Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian) has been gone for years, he hasn’t been forgotten. The character played a huge part in the Salem landscape over the years. Not only was he revealed to be Victor Kiriakis‘ godchild, but also the secret biological son of Maggie Horton. Daniel and Maggie’s relationship was adorable and fans loved watching it play out.
In addition, Daniel had some steamy romances with the likes of Chloe Lane and Jennifer Horton. However, his love for Nicole Walker is the one that fans remember. The duo were set to get married before Eric Brady hit and killed Daniel during a drunk driving accident. Later, Daniel’s heart was given to Brady Black, who was also injured in the crash.
Yes, missing a heart is a big deal. However, “Days of Our Lives” has worked around it in the past. Stefan DiMera came back from the dead after his heart was donated to Julie Williams. Fans would like to see Daniel back to interact with his daughter, Holly, as well as his former love Nicole. Of course, Nicole’s been busy, marrying Eric and Rafe in the time since Daniel’s death. She’s also dated Brady and is engaged to EJ DiMera.
Abigail Deveraux DiMera’s murder doesn’t sit well with fans
In 2022, Abigail Deveraux DiMera was tragically murdered in her own home by Clyde Weston. The legacy character was a huge fan favorite and viewers weren’t happy to see her go. Of course, Abby was also one half of a super couple with Chad DiMera. She left behind two children, Thomas and Charlotte as well.
Her death was tragic, and the show opted to kill off the character instead of recast. While the murder mystery made for an exciting and interesting storyline on “Days of Our Lives,” fans are still holding out hope that Abby will return in the future.
Sami Brady is at the top of the list
Fans absolutely adore Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). Viewers are always hoping that she’ll return to the soap opera. While Sweeney has popped in and out of Salem several times in the years since her official exit, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever return full-time. However, “Days of Our Lives” watchers would love to see Sami back on the show to stir up trouble more often than not.
Sami’s unique brand of chaos and likeability will seemingly never be matched by another “DOOL” character. It makes her beloved by fans, who have been watching the character grow up in Salem for decades.
What happened to Cassie Brady on Days of Our Lives?
“Days of Our Lives” fans who watched the sudser in the early 2000s will likely remember Cassie Brady. The character dropped into Salem with her twin brother, Rex Brady, in an unusual way. She was later discovered to be the biological daughter of Roman Brady and Kate Roberts. However, her stint in Salem wasn’t long.
Cassie left town and has not been seen since. Although Rex and been seen multiple times and even given some important storylines, Cassie’s life remains a mystery. Fans would surely like to see the Brady daughter return to interact with her family and cause trouble in Salem.
Brandon Walker’s return to Salem would be epic
“Days of Our Lives” fans loved the character of Brandon Walker during his Salem days. Brandon is the brother of Nicole and the former husband of Sami Brady. He was involved in plenty of drama during his time on the soap, including having an affair with Lexie Carver. However, Brandon’s biggest storyline has been finding out that he’s the son of Abe Carver.
Brandon would be welcomed back to Salem with open arms by Nicole, Abe, and the rest of the Carver clan. It’s been forever since fans have seen him. Nicole could use her brother in her life, and fans would surely love to see Brandon back in action. Maybe he could even find a Salem bachelorette to romance as well?
