After EJ’s death there were rumors that Mr. DiMera was not really dead, and that his death was somehow faked, but after Stefano called for EJ’s body, fans thought that perhaps a recasting of the character could be in order.
This week, reports began to surface that former “The Young and The Restless” star Michael Muhney was being considered for the role of EJ DiMera, but after the controversial and scandalous way that he left “Y&R” that may not be the best idea.

However, fans loved Michael Muhney as Adam Newman, and campaigned hard for him to return to “The Young and The Restless” before his character was recast with Justin Hartley.
Meanwhile, “Days of Our Lives” fans are in disagreement about whether or not EJ DiMear and/or Sami Brady’s character should be recast.
Many love James Scott and can’t see anyone else as EJ, and feel the same way about Alison Sweeney’s Sami Brady, while others believe that the characters are two of the most important on “Days of Our Lives,” and that they need to be in Salem regardless of the actors playing the parts.
