“Days of Our Lives” is making some big changes and fans are about to see them play out on the small screen. In Salem, legacy characters are the key to keeping the show alive. Recently, it was revealed that a big teen scene storyline was about to play out. However, before that happens, two major characters are set to be recast in preparation.
Days of Our Lives is recasting Holly Jonas and Tate Black
“DOOL” fans are used to seeing young characters rapidly aged into young adults. Over the years, it’s happened to nearly every legacy character in Salem. Whether it was Hope Brady, Philip Kiriakis, Abigail Deveraux, Ciara Brady, or Jennifer Horton. They’ve all be the victim of the process known as Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome, or “SORAS.” Now, it’s time for at least two more characters to follow in their footsteps.
According to reports, “Days of Our Lives” viewers are about to see Nicole Walker’s daughter, Holly Jonas rapidly age into a teenager. Meanwhile, Brady Black’s son, Tate Black, will also allegedly be turning into a teen overnight. The duo, along with some other Salem teenagers, will be setting up a new teenage storyline for the Peacock soap opera.
Holly Jonas’ Salem history explained
As many fans may remember, Holly Jonas is the daughter of Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and the late Dr. Daniel Joans (Shawn Christian). Holly’s early life was full of drama as she was shockingly conceived after Daniel’s death. During Daniel’s life, he and Nicole struggled to have children. So, they asked Nicole’s best friend, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) to be a surrogate for them. After Daniel’s death, Chloe continued the process and ultimately got pregnant with the couple’s child.
However, in a shocking turn of events, Chloe kept quiet about the pregnancy. She didn’t tell Nicole that she was carrying their child. Later, when Nicole found out, she and Chloe fought over custody of the little girl. Finally, the pair worked it out and Holly was returned to her biological mother. Sadly, Holly never got to meet her father, Daniel. He was killed in a car accident caused by drunk driver Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) before she was born.
Tate Black’s life on Days of Our Lives revealed
Tate Black is the son of Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa Donovan (Jen Lilley). However, his conception and birth was also very controversial. “Days of Our Lives” fans watched Theresa become pregnant. However, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) stole her embryo and had it implanted into her own body. Kristen later gave birth to the little boy and named him Christopher.
Eventually, Brady and Theresa figured out Kristen’s scheme. They tracked Kristen down and confronted her. Thankfully, they were reunited with their son, whom they renamed Tate. Later, Brady and Theresa also fought for custody of the little boy. Eventually, Brady allowed Theresa to take Tate and move to California with her parents. He’s currently said to be in boarding school.
What’s next for Salem’s newest teenagers?
It remains to be seen if “Days of Our Lives” will rapidly age any more of Salem’s children such as Chloe’s son Parker Jonas, Brady and Kristen’s daughter Rachel Black, or Gabi Hernandez’s daughter, Arianna Horton. However, fans are excited to see what kind of mischief this new batch of legacy characters will get into during their upcoming Salem stint.
