“Days of Our Lives” has been throwing curveballs at fans for months. The soap opera has rearranged the cast with new comings and goings. They’ve also set up some very interesting new scenarios, some of which hint that Abigail Deveraux could be making her way back to Salem.
Days of Our Lives spoilers hint at Abigail’s big return
“Days of Our Lives” spoilers suggest that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) may be making yet another big career move. Now that Gwen has left Salem and Xander (Paul Telfer) is about to take his place as Victor Kiriakis’ biological son, the newspaper is up for grabs. This is where Chad comes in. Speculation claims that Chad is going to take over the Salem Spectator, and this is another huge hint that his late wife, Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller), is set to make a return.
Longtime “DOOL” fans know that the newspaper is near and dear to Abigail’s heart. Her parents, Jack Deveraux and Jennifer Horton, previously ran the paper together. It also brought them together romantically. Chad running the newspaper when and if Abby comes back to Salem would be the perfect way for the duo to reconnect. Maybe Chad and Abigail will even get a happy ending. However, in Salem, happy endings are few and far between.
As previously reported by Hollywood News Daily, the rumors about a big Abigail return have been circulating for a while now. However, there is a theory that actress Marci Miller may be returning to the soap in a different role.
Marci Miller to return as Abigail’s doppleganger?
Another theory claims that Abigail may be returning to “Days of Our Lives” with a twist. Instead of coming back as Abigail, she may be someone who is a dead ringer for Chad’s beloved wife. If this happened, Chad would certainly be drawn to the new character. However, that’s not all.
Previously, the sudser had a similar storyline. When Bo Brady‘s wife, Hope Brady, was presumed dead, a look-alike came to Salem in her place. The woman’s name was Gina, and she claimed to know nothing about Hope. Eventually, it was revealed that Gina was Hope and that she’d been brainwashed by Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo).
Abigail’s situation could be similar. However, there are added layers to the storyline. Fans know that Abby has struggled with her mental health over the years. She was also diagnosed with a split personality disorder. If she’s still alive and unable to take her medication, she may have created a new alter-ego, and she could be living as the person.

This could get messy in Salem
In addition, Chad’s relationship with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) is on shaky ground. Stephanie has expressed interest in marrying Chad, but he’s not ready for that yet. Meanwhile, Steph’s ex-boyfriend, Everett Lynch (Blake Berris), is in Salem to shake things up.
“Days of Our Lives” fans may have to wait to see how this all plays out. However, many believe that Abigail is headed back to Salem one way or another.
