According to Soaps, actress Camila Banus exited “Days of Our Lives” after 13 years in the role of Gabi. Fans were obviously sad to see the character leave. Gabi was sent to prison for the murder of Li Shin (Remington Hoffman). However, she was clearly innocent. Now, the outlet claims that Gabi could be released soon. However, Banus likely wouldn’t be in the role.
The mystery of who killed Li is going to take some time to play out. There are plenty of suspects. His own father may have done it. Clyde Weston (James Read) could have orchestrated the murder. Perhaps Li is still alive, and his murder was all part of a setup to punish Gabi and her husband, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). Anything is possible in Salem, including Gabi returning from prison with a new face.
Another DOOL recast could have fans talking
“Days of Our Lives” fans are used to seeing recasts. Over the years, there have been plenty of well-received recasts, such as Billy Flynn as Chad DiMera, Marci Miller as Abigail Deveraux, and Brandon Beemer as Shawn Brady. However, other “DOOL” recasts have left fans seeing red.
Meanwhile, there is speculation that Gabi will be recast. However, the most shocking rumor is that actress Lindsay Hartley may take over the role. Hartley is best known for her role as Theresa on the now-defunct soap opera “Passions.” In addition, she’s already held a “Days of Our Lives” role.
Will Lindsay Hartley take over the role of Gabi Hernandez?
Hartley previously portrayed the role of Ariana Hernandez, the older sister of Gabi. During her time in Salem, Ariana (Who Gabi later named her daughter after) had a romance with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). She was shockingly killed off in a hit-and-run accident. Gabi and her brother Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) were devastated by the loss, as their family situation has always been messy.
Nothing has been confirmed. “Days of Our Lives” may choose to find a different actress to take over the role of Gabi. However, the soap opera is known for controversial recasting. Most recently, actress Emily O’Brien went from playing the role of Gwen Rizczech to taking over as Theresa Donovan in the course of the same episode.
It remains to be seen if Gabi is headed back to Salem in the near future. However, fans are interested to find out what lies ahead for the character.
