The actress confirmed her return to her old stomping grounds earlier this month, and she also gave fans just a little bit of dirt about what to expect when the devious daughter of Roman Brady and Marlena Evans Black comes home to stir up some drama.
It’s been two years since “Days of Our Lives” fans have seen Sami Brady back in Salem. However, all that is about to change, as Alison Sweeney is back and filming scenes for the soap opera. Viewers likely won’t see Sami’s return until early 2025, but it sounds like it will be worth the wait.

“I remembered Sami’s grand exit storming out of the DiMera mansion. I was interested to hear how and why they were bringing Sami back to town. With Sami it could be anything,” Sweeney told TV Insider of her return to “DOOL.”
The Hallmark actress also admitted that she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to return when she heard what the writers had in mind for her iconic character.
“Well, it was definitely an unexpected storyline they pitched me,” she teased. “I have to tell you, of all the ideas, I was pretty shocked.”
Sweeney played Sami for more than 20 years, and over that time, her character was involved in some of the most shocking and twisty storylines in the soap world. So, what could be so interesting that the actress herself was “shocked” to hear about it?
Will Sami return with a long-gone Salemite in tow? Will she have some sort of health issue to battle? Could she have a new man or even a new baby? Anything is possible in Salem, and with Sami Brady back in the mix, fans can certainly expect the unexpected.
