Days of Our Lives alum Alison Sweeney, who plays fan favorite Sami Brady on the NBC soap, and has left the show after 21 years, has recently been hired by General Hospital.

However, Days of Our Lives fans shouldn’t feel betrayed, Alison isn’t joining the cast of GH, but she has been hired to work behind the scenes of the soap as a director.
This is a new move for Alison Sweeney, who is obviously trying to branch out into more than just a soap actress.

This also doesn’t mean that Ali won’t be back on Days of Our Lives. In fact, Sweeney has revealed that she will be back for special moments in the show, such as the 50th anniversary celebration next year, and perhaps holiday episodes.
Why we’ll miss Alison’s portrayal of Salem bad girl Sami Brady, we are excited to see where this new venture takes her.
