“Days of Our Lives” fans were introduced to the character of Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) in 1985. Upon his first moments in Salem, it seemed clear that he would become one of the soap opera’s biggest villains. Throughout the years, Victor has shown his softer side regarding family. However, he has had several wild moments on the show. Let’s examine the character’s Salem history and timeline.
When Victor came to Salem in the mid-1980s he was revealed to have a deep connection to the Brady family, especially Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay), whom fans later found out had a torrid affair with Victor outside of her marriage, per Soaps in Depth. Victor was born in Greece and upon showing up in the fictional Midwestern town he quickly got involved in illegal dealings such as drugs. He also had a hand in bringing John Black to Salem.
Days of Our Lives: Victor Kiriakis was discovered to be Bo Brady’s biological father
Later, “Days of Our Lives” viewers discovered the shocking truth that Victor Kiriakis was the biological father of Bo Brady (Peter Reckell). Furthermore, this led to the Brady family being hit hard with the knowledge that Caroline had strayed and lied for several years. In addition, Bo struggled with the fact that Victor was his father and it took several years for the two to form a bond.
Eventually, Victor opted to focus more on legitimate businesses and founded Titan Industries. Through the decades, many of Victor’s family members such as Brady Black, Philip Kiriakis, Xander Cook, Justin Kiriakis, and controversial character Alex Kiriakis others went on to work for him. Of course, Victor’s personal life also created some huge moments in Salem.
Victor was married to several different women in Salem
“Days of Our Lives” fans watched Victor marry women such as Carly Manning, Nicole Walker, Vivian Alamain, and Kate Roberts before finally settling down with Maggie Horton. However, he’s got nothing on Sami Brady’s long history with weddings! Despite cooling off his villain persona over the years, Victor was part of many schemes, never truly losing the urge to get his hands dirty. Victor has been involved in blackmail, attempted murder, kidnapping, and baby swaps.
In his later years, Victor was less active on-screen, but still a huge part of the Salem landscape as one of the show’s most iconic characters. His marriage to Maggie was at the center of his storylines most often, as well as the drama surrounding Titan and his family members.
Days of Our Lives icon John Aniston died in 2022
In 2022, actor John Aniston sadly died at the age of 89. In the summer of 2023, “Days of Our Lives” paid tribute to the legendary soap actor and also killed off the character of Victor Kiriakis in an emotional storyline.
