Days Of Our Lives: Who Is Brady Black’s Mother Isabella?

“Days of Our Lives” viewers have watched Brady Black grow up before their eyes. The character, which Eric Martsolf currently portrays, is a massive piece of the Salem landscape. Brady was born on-screen in 1992 to parents John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Isabella Toscano Black (Staci Greason). Through the years, fans have seen Brady lean on John’s wife, Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall), as a mother figure. Meanwhile, his biological mother’s story is truly tragic.

When Isabella first came to Salem, she was thought to be the daughter of Loretta and Ernesto Toscano. However, it was soon clear that Isabella’s past was complicated. Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) was eventually revealed to be her biological father. Isabella came to terms with her paternity and befriended Salemites such as Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford). She also grew close to her brother Bo Brady (Peter Reckell).

Days of Our Lives: Who was Isabella Toscano Black?

It was a true love match when “Days of Our Lives” fans watched Isabella Toscano met John Black (Who then believed he was Roman Brady). Once John realized he wasn’t Roman, Isabella helped him search for answers about his identity. John and Isabella had an iconic romantic relationship and eventually tied the knot. They were so happy together and their happiness multiplied when they found out that Isabella was pregnant.

John and Isabella lovingly welcomed their son, Brady Black, whom they named after the Brady family that had accepted John with open arms. The couple was over the moon with their new little bundle of joy. Sadly, their happiness was cut short when Isabella was diagnosed with cancer. Her health began to fade fast, and after saying an emotional goodbye to her loved ones in Salem, she and John headed to Venice, where Isabella lived out her final days. As the two shared one last dance, Isabella died peacefully in John’s arms.

Isabella died shortly after Brady’s birth

Brady never got the chance to really know his mother. However, he did have the love of John’s life, Marlena, as a surrogate mother. However, Brady has seen his mother’s spirit several times throughout the years. Isabella has also appeared to John in visions. Her legacy lives on through her now-adult son, Brady, and in John and Marlena’s daughter, whom they named Isabella (Belle) after his late wife.

Isabella Toscano didn’t have a long stint on “Days of Our Lives.” However, she was a hugely impactful Salemite and one of the most iconic characters on the soap opera.
