‘Desperate Housewives’ Revival: Marcia Cross Reacts To Reports

'Desperate Housewives' star Marcia Cross on the red carpet on the square in front of the Rathaus (Town Hall) of Vienna, Austria.

A Desperate Housewives revival is something that many fans have been wishing for for many years. However, it always seems unlikely. This week, a new report surfaced on social media. One user claims that the series was going to return for a 10-episode season on Hulu.

According to Pop Culture, the speculation claims that Desperate Housewives is returning has delighted fans. The rumor claims that the original cast, including Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Eva Longoria will return. However, Cross seemingly debunked the speculation via social media.

Is Desperate Housewives returning for a revival?

Upon hearing the rumor, Cross reacted on social media. She tells her fans that the revival is news to her.

“Our source inside @Hulu has confirmed that they are in the final stages of development for a 10 episode DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES REVIVAL,” the fan tweeted on Wednesday. “@HatchingChange @EvaLongoria @RealMarcia #FelicityHuffman are ALL set to return!!! Are you excited???”

However, Marcia seems interested in the thought of bringing back her character, Bree Van de Camp. Her response came just one day after she liked a tweet of a fan stating that they should bring Desperate Housewives back.

The series ran from 2004-2012. It lasted for 8 seasons on ABC before saying their final goodbye. The show followed the group of four female friends/neighbors who dealt with scandal, death, infidelity, and so much more following the shocking suicide of their fellow friend, Mary Alice.

Eva Longoria says she’s game to reprise the role of Gabby

Meanwhile, actress Eva Longoria, who played the character of Gabby Solis, has stated that she’d be on board to return. Last year, she revealed that she would love to reprise the role for a Desperate Housewives movie.

“I miss being Gaby Solis, and I think people miss seeing her — and especially during this day and age, where we just need to laugh sometimes.” She added, “I’d do it tomorrow,” Longoria told Good Morning America in September.

Despite it all, the show’s creator, Marc Cherry, doesn’t appear to have any interest in bring the series back to life.

“I did 180 episodes of Desperate Housewives. So, you know, unlike say a Sex and the City or something, which was on cable and didn’t do as many, I feel like I’ve done that,” he previously told Us Weekly.

The show may or may not get a revival. However, fans can still watch all of the drama in the original series. All 8 seasons are currently streaming on Hulu.
