Joseph Quinn was the breakout star of “Stranger Things” Season 4. The actor’s character Eddie Munson quickly became a huge favorite among fans. Eddie was easy for viewers to love. He was not only funny and charming but also made fans smile with his nerdy personality. In addition, Eddie was also a rocker with long, 80s hair and a love for heavy metal and Dungeons and Dragons.
Eddie may not have been the hero type. He wasn’t the bravest character in Season 4, or the strongest. However, he captured the hearts of viewers in a way that other characters couldn’t. He also proved that in spite of being a bit scared of life, he could put on a brave face and become a hero that ultimately saved Hawkins. Quinn’s portrayal of Eddie made him one of the most beloved Stranger Things cast members.
Will Joseph Quinn return to Stranger Things as Eddie Munson?
Stranger Things Season 4 fans were devastated when Eddie Munson was killed off. Even though he died a hero, viewers wanted more Eddie in Season 5. It seems that Joseph Quinn also wanted more of Eddie. In fact, he and fan-favorite actor Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) actually talked about the ways that Eddie could possibly return to the franchise.
“Me and Joe Keery were discussing ways in which I could kind of [come back]… maybe I’d be like a figment of Gaten’s [Dustin Henderson) imagination or something,” he told Radio Times. “Like if there could be some kind of room for something like that, something a bit supernatural.”
Joseph Quinn isn’t hopeful about Eddie’s future
When asked about returning to Stranger Things for Season 5, Joseph Quinn says he doesn’t know if Eddie will be back at all, but he’s not hopeful. “I’ve said I don’t know because I really don’t know,” Quinn told GQ. “Shawn Levy [producer] has said it publicly. I think [his return] would be very, very, very unlikely. He seems pretty dead to me.”
However, Quinn says he wouldn’t be opposed to bringing Eddie Munson back to Stranger Things. “By no means am I ruling it out. That’s a decision for the grown-ups to make. But Stranger Things was doing fine without Eddie,” the actor revealed.
Meanwhile, fans can’t wait to see Stranger Things Season 5. The season will be the last one for the Netflix series. However, the storyline is being kept under wraps for now. Although fans are dying to know how things will unfold for the Hawkins crew, it looks like everyone will have to wait until 2023
