Elvis Presley’s life continues to be among the most interesting subjects to date when it comes to celebrity newshounds. The King may be gone but certainly will never be forgotten.
Despite being a vast star, Elvis Presley often had some very bizarre celebrity encounters of his own. According to Ultimate Classic Rock one such encounter includes a meeting with shock rocker Alice Cooper.
Elvis Presley leaves quite an impression on Alice Cooper
Cooper recalls receiving an unexpected request revealing that Elvis Presley wanted to meet with the rocker in person. Alice Cooper revealed it was a strange meeting from start to finish.
In 1970, Cooper recalls he was one of four celebrities that came to Presley’s hotel suite in Las Vegas. Among him included Liza Minelli, Chubby Checker, and adult film star Linda Lovelace.
Alice recalls details of his meeting with Elvis stating that he and the others entered an elevator together. Upon arriving at Elvis’ floor, Presley’s security people began searching them for guns.

Cooper claims he thought the search was rather odd, considering the number of guns Elvis’ security was carrying in the elevator. Moments later, Cooper claims he was face-to-face with Elvis.
Alice reveals his conversation with the King.
“He goes, ‘Hey, man. You’re that cat with the snake, ain’t ya?'” Cooper recalled him asking. “I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘That’s cool, man. I wish I woulda thoughta that.'”
Moments into the meeting, Elvis told Alice to come into the kitchen with him.
“He opens the drawer, takes out a loaded .38, snub-nose .38, puts it in my hand and he says, ‘I’m gonna show you how to take this gun outta somebody’s hand.”
Presley handed the rocker a loaded gun. Cooper claims it was quite an experience to be holding a gun pointed at the King o Rock and Roll.
“The little devil here on my shoulder says, ‘Shoot him,'” the rocker joked. “The little angel over here says, ‘Don’t kill him. Just wound him.'”
Elvis Puts Alice on the ground
Cooper’s inner dialogue didn’t last long: “Before I could decide what to do, I was on the floor. And he had his boot on my throat. And I’m going, ‘Argh! That’s good, Elvis.'”
Cooper and Presley’s crazy meeting holds a special place in his memory. He reveals he continues to hold nothing but admiration for the late singer. “He was an amazing character,” he recalled. “Very funny guy. But he was Elvis.”
