Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate is being sued by a couple who claim Graceland is responsible for “hurting” their marriage. According to a report from The Travel.

Elvis Presley, who reportedly passed away more than four decades ago on August 16, 1977 name is the target of a strange new lawsuit to the tune of $75,000. A Swiss couple by the names of Hans-Peter Gauch and Magdalena Gauch allege that The Guest House along with Elvis Presley Enterprises, and Pyramid Tennessee Management are responsible for medical issues that have since plagued havoc with Hans-Peter’s job and occupation.

They claim that Hans-Peter was diagnosed with tinnitus (ringing of the ears) in a Memphis hospital. He claims that the ear damage was caused by the sounding off of a false fire alarm. The fire alarm sounded out during Hans-Peter’s stay at Graceland’s popular accommodations. He claims he and his daughter tried to evacuate the premises but became confused with the layout display during the chaos while trying to find an emergency exit.

Gauch states he and his daughter returned back to their room and called the front desk. He adds that the front desk clerks informed them that it was a false alarm. According to Hans-Peter, the alarm rang loudly for more than 30-minutes and he and other guests were forced to cover their ears with their hands in an attempt to drown out the ear-piercing sirens.

Gauch, stated following the false fire alarm he began feeling strange and experiencing whistling in his ears, had himself checked out at a nearby hospital, which diagnosed him with tinnitus, something that was also confirmed by an ear specialist in Geneva after he went back home.

He also claims that due to the ear-piercing damage he has been unable to continue working and that his wife had to take over part of his real estate company and has interfered with their relationship. The issues have not only allegedly caused physical damage but also marital relationship issues that have forced them to separate. The lawsuit docs state that the couple accuses Graceland’s management of not documenting emergency exits and failing to have facilities up to code.

This is not the first time in the past few years that the Presley family name has been attached to legal issues. As previously reported, Elvis Presley‘s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley has been in continuous court battles while divorcing ex-husband Michael Lockwood. Lisa Marie is also currently battling her former business manager, whom she claims mismanaged her multi-million dollar inheritance left to her by her deceased father Elvis Presley, leaving her broke.
