Felicity Huffman Pleads Guilty To College Admissions Cheating Scandal

Felicity Huffman, 56, has plead guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud in the recent college admissions cheating scandal according to TMZ.

Felicity Huffman along with 13 other parents all entered guilty pleas in a Los Angeles courtroom this morning. Huffman admitted that she paid Rick Singer $15,000 to rig her daughter’s SAT test which allowed her twice the normal amount of time to complete the tests and also allowed the proctor to correct her answers.

Huffman stated, “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”

She continues, “I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community.”

At this time there has been no report of sentencing, however, the celebrity news site reports that the prosecutors are pushing for some amount of prison time to be handed down by the judge. Felicity Huffman could face up to 20 years in prison.

As for Lori Laughlin, she and her husband were not part of today’s plea deal. Lori and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying over $500,000 in order to get their daughters, Bella and Olivia Jade, into the University of Southern California under the false pretenses that they were recruited rowing athletes. At this time it is not clear what direction Loughlin and her legal team will take. According to Inquisitr reports, Loughlin and her husband,Mossmio Giannulli are currently suffering marital issues brought on by the stress of the college cheating scandal.

 

Felicity Huffman is best known for her role on “Desperate Housewives as Lynette Scavo. Huffman is married to “Shameless” star William H. Macy the couple share two daughters, Sophia, 18, and Georgia, 17.
