Friday the 13th Series is being made for a new television series just days after it was announced that Friday the 13th the remake hired on a new director.
Friday the 13th will find fans welcoming Jason Voorhees to their television screens in a new made for TV series.
The famous horror film killer will be featured in the series with“re-imagines of Jason in multiple time periods”.
“The series is contemporary, focusing on the eclectic characters of Crystal Lake who are forced to confront the return of the killer, as new secrets about his wacky family are revealed.”
Sean Cunningham,Friday the 13th’s original director will now be working as the series executive producer and has revealed,
“Jason Voorhees is synonymous with the genre and we plan to build on this legacy with a provocative and compelling take that expands upon the storylines that have already thrilled millions worldwide,”
Also producing is Horror Inc. president Robert Barsamian who added:
“Expect the show to take viewers in some exciting new directions that we’re confident will not only excite existing fans of Friday The 13th but also attract new audiences to the situations and characters that inhabit the small town of Crystal Lake.”
The Friday the 13th series will be an hour long and delve deep into the lives of all of then Voorhees family members. The show is set to air on Fox, release dates have not been announced to date.
