Buckle up, “Friday The 13th” fans. The prequel series titled “Crystal Lake” is getting close and has even cast beloved TV actress Linda Cardellini in the role of Jason Vorhees’ murderous mother, Pamela Vorhees. As fans may remember, Pamela was the original killer in the first film of the horror franchise. After her death at the end of the movie, Jason became the iconic film villain that he is today. The series was first reported to stream on Peacock back in 2022. Now it seems that fans will finally see it come to fruition.
In the original film, Pamela Vorhees (played by Betsy Palmer) was revealed to have killed the camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake to avenge the death of her son, Jason, who died from drowning while the counselors weren’t paying attention. The 1980 film also starred the likes of Kevin Bacon and became an instant hit with fans. In 2009, the movie got a remake. However, this time there’s a new spin on the old star, and Linda Cardellini will take over the reins, per Entertainment Weekly.
A24 is the studio taking on the project. Not too much is currently known about the show other than its ties to Peacock. However, it seems that fans may get to see a look at the life of young Jason Vorhees, and what his mother, Pamela, was really like.

In the past she’s wowed viewers with roles in shows such as “Dead To Me,” “No Good Deed,” “Mad Men,” “ER,” “Freaks and Geeks,” as well as films like “Grandma’s Boy,” “Scooby Doo,” and “A Simple Favor.”
Fans are now very excited to see what Linda Cardellini can do in the role of Pamela Vorhees. They’re also hoping that “Crystal Lake” can carry on the legacy of “Friday The 13th” and deliver on the scary good vibes of the past.
