Matthew Perry Dead at Age 54
Matthew Perry, who is best known for his role as Chandler Bing on “Friends,” was found dead at his LA home on Saturday. Law enforcement tells TMZ that emergency responders were called to Perry’s house for a possible cardiac arrest. Perry was found in his jacuzzi and appeared to drown to death.
According to the news outlet, no drugs were found at the scene, and foul play is not suspected at this time. The outlet revealed that the “Friends” star came home after a two-hour game of pickleball and sent his assistant out on an errand shortly after.
Perry’s assistant is reported to have returned to Matthew Perry’s home about two hours later and discovered the actor unresponsive, immediately calling 911.

Warner Bros, which produced “Friends” for its entire run from 1994 to 2004, said in a statement: “We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros Television Group family.

NBC, which aired “Friends” from 1994 to 2004, also released a statement.
“We are incredibly saddened by the too-soon passing of Matthew Perry,” the network said. “He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch-perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations.”
Matthew Perry’s former cast members are reeling from the news. Actress Maggie Wheeler was the first of Perry’s co-stars to react to the news of Matthew’s death. Wheeler played Chandler Bing‘s on-again, off-again girlfriend Janice.
“What a loss. The world will miss you, Mathew Perry,” she wrote. “The joy you brought to so many in your too-short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”
Morgan Fairchild, who played Matthew Perry’s television mom, tweeted, “I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my ‘son,’ Matthew Perry. The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. I’m sending love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on “Flamingo Road” & “Falcon Crest.”
