The man responsible for reigniting the “Friends” reunion rumors in 2014 is now apologizing.

‘Friends’ reunion rumor starter apologizes

It all started (again) when a photoshopped poster reading “Friends…the one after the 10 year break,” surfaced online.

Another rumor claimed a “Friends” reunion would come over Thanksgiving. However, the rumors have no truth to them.

Tom Charlie Thompson, the man who allegedly created the poster is now apologizing to fans.

Will we ever see a ‘Friends’ reunion?

“I’m very sorry for any confusion caused. I have to say that the poster wasn’t created with the intention to upset, anger or fool anyone,” Thompson said.

“It wasn’t even supposed to be seen by many people. I was expecting a few ‘likes’ on Facebook by some of my friends who are also fans of the show,” he added.

But Thompson says he’s not totally to blame for the “Friends” reunion frenzy and confusion.

“My original poster has my Twitter name on it. Therefore, nobody should have been confused as to whether it might or might not be real. The fact it was cropped and re-uploaded by somebody else is what caused the confusion, in my opinion. An official promotional poster would not have had somebody’s Twitter name stuck to the bottom of it,” he said.

Fans of the hit NBC sitcom are dying for a reunion, and rumors have been on and off since the show ending in 2004.

However, for now it seems it’s not happening, although never say never!
