Game of Thrones, Animal Kingdom & More 2017 Summer TV Shows You Need To Watch

It’s finally summer, and while most of your favorite TV shows have called it quits for the season, there are some TV shows that you’ll definitely want to be tuning into during the summer of 2017. Although the weather is nice, and you’ll want to be outside, these shows will be worth setting your DVR for!

1.) Game of Thrones: Season 7 of the beloved HBO series is set to return on July 16, and you won’t want to miss a moment of the action. The series will only include 7 episodes, and they’re set to be fast paced. Everyone will be talking about GoT this summer, and you won’t want to be left out!

2.) Animal Kingdom: Season 2 of the TNT crime drama series returns on May 30. The Cody family’s Season 1 struggles will seemingly be nothing compared to what they’ll be facing when the series returns. If you haven’t seen Season 1 yet, catch up now, because this is one of the hottest, steamiest, and most dramatic shows on television.

3.) Still Star Crossed: This is ABC’s newest drama and Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder) is attached! The brand new series is set to premiere on May 29. The show will follow the events that take place after Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. The Montague and Capulet families will still be at war, and fans of the Shakespeare tale will without a doubt love this new series.

4.) The Bachelorette: While Rachel Lindsay couldn’t win Nick Viall’s heart during Season 20 of The Bachelor, she is looking for love during Season 13 of The Bachelorette. Rachel’s season premiere on May 22, and will have fans tuning in all summer long to see which of the handsome men vying for her heart she’ll choose to be her future husband.

5.) Bachelor in Paradise: When Rachel Lindsay is done looking for love on The Bachelorette, former Bachelor and Bachelorette cast-offs will gather to look for their own love connections on Bachelor in Paradise, which begins airing in August.

6.) Fear The Walking Dead: Season 3 of AMC’s Walking Dead spin-off begins airing on June 4. The show has continued to get better each season, and the characters are finally coming in to their own.

7.) Orange Is The New Black: The Netflix drama/comedy is returning for Season 5 on June 9. The women’s prison series is heating up as some of the supporting characters are beginning to come out of the background with very interesting stories of their own.

8.) Friends From College: This is a new Netflix series that is sure to have viewers laughing. The comedy stars Fred Savage (The Wonder Years, The Grinder), Cobi Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), and Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele.) The show will premiere on July 14 and revolve around a group of college friends who are facing complicated issues in their 40s.

9.) Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update: That’s right, SNL’s Weekend Update is getting its own stand alone show. This means that all your news, complete with hilarious commentary can be seen given to you by your favorite SNL comedians. The show begins on August 10.

10.) The Nineties: CNN is releasing a new seven-part documentaries about life in the 1990’s. The show will cover everything from terrorism to pop culture in what some consider to be one of the most recent great decades. The network has already tackled the 60’s through the 80’s. The series premieres on July 9.
