George R.R. Martin has stated that HBO has “Shelved” some Game Of Thrones spin-off shows. This does not mean any of these shows have been killed but they are being placed on the back burner. As the year turned George R.R. Martin posted to his “Not a Blog” site to talk about the projects he will be working on in 2023.
Some of the projects include The Winds Of Winter book, season two of House Of The Dragon, and some other Game Of Thrones successor shows. George also warned readers that they will not all be moving forward at once.
George R.R. Martins’ take on the shelved shows
“Some of those are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development,” he wrote in his most recent post, titled ‘Stuff and Nonsense.’ “None have been greenlit yet, though we are hoping… maybe soon. A couple have been shelved, but I would not agree that they are dead. You can take something off the shelf as easily as you can put it on the shelf. All the changes at HBO Max have impacted us, certainly.” according to IGN.com.
It is not known what projects have been shelved at this moment in time. Although it is disappointing that we will have to wait longer for more Game Of Thrones content we still have a lot to look forward to. First of all, House Of The Dragon season two is sure to be a good one.
Second, there are still a lot of talks about the Jon Snow spin-off series. There are a number of other projects in the works as well. Such as 10,000 ships, The Sea Snake, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms, and some animated shows. Plenty of upcoming content from the Game Of Thrones universe and it all seems good.

After House Of The Dragon was received so well by the fans, everyone wants more Game Of Thrones content. It will be very interesting to see what HBO can do next with these shows. To see the events that lead up to and take place after A Song Of Ice And Fire is very interesting.
George R.R. Martin has created such a great franchise with Game Of Thrones. It always leaves fans wanting more and that is what makes it so special. We can not wait to see what 2023 will bring for the Game Of Thrones franchise. All of these upcoming shows will be must-watch content.
