On Sunday, the 2021 NBA Finals shifted to Milwaukee for Game 3. Leading the charge for the Bucks’ 120 to 100 win was of course Giannis Antetokounmpo who had another monster game dropping 41 points with 13 rebounds and 6 assists.
“The task was fairly straightforward as far as winning NBA Finals games goes for the Bucks on Sunday. Antetokounmpo probably needed more help if they were going to win. Even a 42-point double-double in Game 2 from the star wasn’t enough to prevent a 10-point loss largely because Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton combined to shoot an ugly 12-of-37 (32.4 percent) from the field,” reports Bleacher Report.
Luckily for Milwaukee Khirs Middleton showed up in Game 3 scoring 15 points in the first half and rediscovering his mid-range shot while attacking the rim without fear. Khris ended the night with 18 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds.
One of the main stories from Game 3 was the fantastic play of Jrue Holiday. Holiday posted 21 points with 9 assists and 5 rebounds and was a humongous impact on the Game 3 victory giving Giannis the help he desperately needed.
Bucks win Game 3 of NBA Finals
The Bucks need to take away a few things from Game 3, One and possibly the most important is that the Phoenix Suns are beatable. Now that Milwaukee has that first win under their belts and having the home-court advantage for Game 4 they need to keep in mind that they can beat this Suns team. Another thing they should take away from Game 3 is that when their role players play well they are 1oo percent a championship team.
The added help of Holiday and Bobby Portis proves that good things happen when the bench plays well. The last thing they should take away from the win is that whatever they did defensively they need to keep doing it until it doesn’t work anymore. The Milwaukee Bucks’ defense held Devin Booker who has been a force to be reckoned with all year to only 10 points.
Although there is a lot of basketball still yet to be played in this series things could possibly be looking up for Milwaukee especially if they can even the series in Game 4. It will be very interesting to see how Phoenix responds to this blowout loss in the next game but for now, we will have to wait until Wednesday night to see if the series will be tied at two games apiece or if the Suns will take that dreaded 3-1 lead.
