Rowan Blanchard goes from ‘Girl Meets World’ to ‘The Goldbergs.’
“Girl Meets World” star Rowan Blanchard has officially booked her first post-cancellation gig. The teenage actress has landed a guest starring role on the hit ABC 1980’s comedy “The Goldbergs.” It’s only been a month since Rowan’s series was shockingly cancelled by Disney Channel, but the actress is keeping in the network’s family by appearance on its sister station.
According to TV Line, Rowan Blanchard will appear in at least one episode during Season 4 of “The Goldbergs” as a character named Aliza after spending three seasons as Riley Matthews, daughter of Cory and Topanga on Disney’s “Girl Meets World.” Aliza is the editor of the William Penn Academy’s student sci-fi/fantasy magazine, which should mean that her interaction with the main character, Adam, will be leaving us in stitches. Rowan’s debut on the series will air in late winter or early spring.
A new world for Blanchard.
Meanwhile, Blanchard will be dabbling in the world of sci-fi and fantasy for real. The young actress has reportedly lined up roles in films such as “A World Away,” which is set for a 2017 release, and “A Wrinkle in Time,” which will be out next year.
As for Rowan Blanchard’s “Girl Meets World” being revived on another network, no news has been reported. While fans are still hopeful that a network such as FreeForm, Netflix, or Amazon Prime will pick up the series, things are starting to look a little bleak for the show returning for Season 4. However, the show’s creator, Michael Jacobs, did confirm that “talks” were “underway” to find the show a new home. Fingers crossed!
