Goldie Hawn is an iconic actress. She’s starred in beloved films such as “Death Becomes Her,” “Overboard,” “Private Benjamin,” “First Wives Club,” and many more. However, one thing she hasn’t done is share the screen with her daughter, actress Kate Hudson. Sadly, it looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon. Goldie is reportedly wanted to star in a possible “How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days” sequel alongside Kate and Matthew McConaughey.
According to Radar Online, Goldie Hawn wants no part of sharing the screen with Kate Hudson. The “How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days” sequel will reportedly center on Hudson’s character, Andie, as she and boyfriend Ben (Matthew McConaughey) are planning their wedding. However, Andie is struggling with a difficult relationship with her mother.
Hawn has reportedly been asked to step into the role of Andie’s mom. However, she doesn’t feel good about playing out a rocky mother/daughter relationship with her real-life daughter.
Goldie Hawn Avoids On-Screen Pairing With Daughter Kate Hudson
“Kate’s working her magic, but Goldie still has her reservations. She’s concerned that it might ruin their perfect mother-daughter relationship,” an insider dished. “In fact, her first reaction was, ‘No way, not ever.’ She loves her family and doesn’t want to rock the boat for a career boost.”
Hudson is said to want to work alongside her mother on the film. She’s seen how some of Hollywood’s veteran women are having a resurgence and thinks that her mom could be next.
“Looking at how older stars like Pamela Anderson have reinvented themselves, Katie wants Goldie to have another chance at proving how talented she is.”
In addition, fans would absolutely love to see Kate and Goldie work together. It would be memorable for viewers and the two women alike.
However, even if Hawn doesn’t sign on for the film, it looks like the sequel may push forward regardless.
“Everyone loves the latest script. With or without Goldie, it’s looking like they’ve got a hit on their hands. But Katie would love to bring her mom along for the ride.”
It appears that fans will have to wait to find out if Goldie Hawn can be persuaded to work with Kate Hudson. Until then, fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting for any news about the sequel.
