Half-Life 3 Rumors Are Popping Up Once Again

half life video game

After many years of popular video game company Valve not making third installments of their games we are finally getting some rumors of a Half-Life 3. Is this the hundredth time we have heard something like this? Why yes it is, but even though Half-Life 2 came out almost 20 years ago you never know when Valve could release some information about a new Half-Life game in development or just release the game in general.

The Last Half-Life content we got was the VR game Half-Life: Alyx. Even though it was a VR game is still looked really good and it may have even hinted at continuing Gordon Freemen’s story.

Game expert Tyler McVicker recently shared a video that game fans some info on what’s happening at Valve. Tyler says that there is a group of people working on Half-Life 3, but that most of the company’s focus is Steam Deck, reports We Got This Covered

It is very well known that Valve does not like to make third installments of their games as the community has been waiting for a Half-life, Left 4 Dead, and a Portal 3 for a very long time and it just does not seem like we will ever get them. It does seem that Valve is interested in creating more stories in the Half-Life universe but it is very possible that they will not be direct sequels to Half-Life 2.

“We do know that Valve is working on a different Half-Life game called Half-Life Citadel. This new game will be an FPS/RTS hybrid, kind of like the Left 4 Dead series, McVicker said. “It’s being created with the Steam deck in mind” the outlet stated.

It will be very interesting to see where Valve goes with these rumors and if they are even true at all. For the mental health of Half-Life fans, we can only hope that these rumors are true and there will be a Half=Life 3 in the near future. But For right now, all we can do is wait and watch to see what Valve’s next move is and to see what happens to the Half-Life franchise.
