Hayden Panettiere‘s late September interview set off several red flags after allegedly suffering a relapse. The interview upset her family and fans so much that one family member high-tailed it to Los Angeles to help.
According to In Touch, sources close to the actress say that after seeing Hayden’s interview with People magazine, there was no question that something was very off with her. During the interview, Hayden is seen looking disoriented and struggling to speak. She slurred her words and had difficulty keeping her eyes open.
People uploaded Hayden’s troubling video to their Instagram page, sending fans into an uproar. They demanded that they take down the clip; however, it remains on the social media outlet. Fans blasted the magazine coming to Hayden Panettiere’s defense.
“This is so sad and so wrong! She is clearly struggling, and it breaks my heart to see her this way. She needs help,” writes one upset commenter.
Panettiere’s family member conducted an in-home intervention on October 6, and Hayden checked into rehab the same day. Hayden has struggled with addiction issues in the past. In 2022, she publicly admitted that she was battling opioid and alcohol issues.
“I was on top of the world, and I ruined it. I’d think I hit rock bottom, but then there’s that trap door that opens,” she recalled about her addiction, adding that becoming sober hadn’t “been easy, and there were a lot of ups and downs.”
Hayden Panettiere Blames Exhaustion On Her Bizarre Actions
Hayden’s out-of-sorts behavior set fans off. They soon began flocking to social media to voice their concerns for the troubled actress. The Scream 4 star later took to her Instagram page to respond to the backlash. However, in a lengthy post, Hayden made many excuses for herself, blaming exhaustion for most of it.
Panettiere is allegedly irritated during the post, writing, “It’s unfathomable that I’m even in this position, but I feel forced to address it in a space where I won’t be criticized for how fast or slow I speak.” She then said she was exhausted during the interview, adding she hadn’t slept for two days.
“My rep stopped the interview early as it became obvious that I was fading—especially as the subject matter became heavier. We asked the interviewer if we could redo it another day or do a follow-up interview on Zoom. She assured us that it wasn’t necessary.”
Needless to say, that wasn’t the case, and it appears that the actress had relapsed. Her fans are relieved that Hayden Panettiere’s family convinced her to return to rehab for treatment. So far, her reps have yet to comment. However, her fans wish her well and hope to see her return later sober, healthy, and happy.
