HBO’s The Last Of Us, is based on Naughty Dogs’ former Game of the Year award winner. Released back in 2014, The Last Of Us was an instant classic in its genre. Recently HBO’s Drama Chief, Francesca Oris hinted that The Last Of Us may not continue after Season 2. Although many fans are calling for multiple seasons that may not be the case.
“We have loosely heard that there will be a Season 3 idea for the series, but at this point, we’re taking it one season at a time, ” she continued. There’s no guarantee at this point that we’ll have a Season 3, but I know that they both have a vision for Season 3. Whether that lends itself to doing more [seasons], I don’t know yet.” according to TheNews.com.
So Many Deaths!
The Last Of Us has recently been named the most bloodthirsty Tv show. numbers from IMDB and Cinemorgue have shown that more than half the characters die in The Last Of Us. Around 56.5% of characters were killed off in Season 1. The mortality rate was shown at 5.78 characters dying per episode. That is one of the highest for a show in TV history. Much like the game, nobody is really safe at any point in time.
Led by the lead developer, Neil Druckmann, and his partner Craig Mazin, The Last Of Us follows Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie Williams (Bella Ramsey) 20 years after the collapse of society. Joel is tasked with bringing Ellie across a very dangerous United States as she is immune to the infection. Season 1 of HBO’s The Last Of Us covers the entire first game. TLOU Season 2 will cover the second game in the series but it is unknown if one season can tell the entire story.
Season 2 And More
With that being said, Season 1 was said to have felt a little rushed. After the Finale, there were talks of splitting the second game into two separate seasons, but that was never confirmed. With The Last Of Us Part 2 being a much more complex story, multiple seasons may be needed to really get every detail right. With plenty of time to come up with a sound plan, Druckmann and HBO should be able to figure something out to please everyone. As for now, we will all just have to wait and watch for more updates on HBO’s The Last Of Us.
