How I Met Your Father has become a fan favorite among viewers. Although it’s much different from it’s parent series, How I Met Your Mother, the characters are shaping up to be just as lovable. Currently, fans are in the dark about who may be the father of Sophie’s (Hilary Duff) son. In the flashforward scenes, fans can see older Sophie (Kim Cattrall) telling her son the story of how she met is father. Sophie’s son isn’t seen on camera. However, fans haven’t been shy about guessing who his father may be.
There are some obvious choices such as Jesse and Drew. However, the series could following the path of How I Met Your Mother. This means the show may not introduce viewers to the father until the show is nearly concluded. Although, one former How I Met Your Father writer is allegedly speaking out about the father’s identity.
How I Met Your Father: Who Is The Father?
According to one fan on Reddit, How I Met Your Father producer and writer, Dan Levy, spilled the beans. Levy seemingly told people that the production has planned for a very unlikely and shocking character to eventually be revealed as the father of Sophie’s son.
“So I saw John Mulaney last weekend, and his good friend Dan Levy did an opening set where he went a little into his former role of executive producer of this show,” the fan wrote. “And he said, ‘the Indian guy is the father,’ followed by, ‘Oh, what are they gonna do, fire me? They already did.’ So I guess do with this information what you will? Probably not very reliable and obviously not set in stone, but I found it interesting,” Levy reportedly stated.
Former HIMYF writer claims shocking character is Sophie’s future love
If Levy is correct, that would mean that Sid (Suraj Sharma) could be revealed as Sophie’s future love. This is shocking because Sid is the best friend of Sophie’s current love interest Jesse. In addition, Sid is also madly in love with his new wife, Hannah (Ashley Reyes).
It’s completely possible that Sid is just one option to be named as the father. However, as the story goes on, things could change. Of course, this may change the way that How I Met Your Father fans watch the show from now on. Could there be some surprising spark between Sid and Sophie? Only time will tell.
