Celebrity Tom Cruise remains estranged from his daughter, Suri Cruise. According to recent reports, it has been long since the father and daughter last spent time together. Suri is the daughter of Tom and his ex-wife and former “Dawsons Creek” star Katie Holmes.
Tom Cruise Estranged From Daughter Suri Cruise
The “Mission Impossible” star, Tom Cruise, has reportedly not seen his daughter, Suri Cruise, in over ten years. Page Six reports that Tom is no longer an active part of his daughter’s life.
Katie Holmes retains full custody of Suri. The mother-and-daughter duo currently reside in New York City today. The last known photos of Suri and her dad are from 2012, when the pair visited Disneyland together. The last time Tom spent time with his daughter, she was only six years old. Now, at 17, she is a young woman with her entire life ahead of her.
Tom Cruise reportedly has a great relationship with his other two children. Tom shares daughter Isabella Cruise and son Connor Cruise with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman. Per The Sun, Tom allegedly remains close to his other children because they are active members of his Scientology faith.

During Katie and Tom’s divorce proceedings, he affirmed that his strict dedication to Scientology played a significant role in the couple’s split. This is because Holmes desired to keep Suri out of the Scientology faith. From then on, Tom and Suri’s relationship drifted further apart. It has been ten-plus years since Suri Cruise has seen her father, Tom Cruise.
Tom & Kate’s Divorce
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s was not your usual Hollywood divorce, instead of a long and nasty battle. The couple ended things quickly and quietly in just eleven days.
Even though he states that Katie completely blindsided him. The former couple rarely speak on record about their split. Over the years, plenty of speculation has stated that Katie felt the need to protect Suri from Scientology. However, Tom disagrees and says, “There is no need to protect my daughter from my religion.”
In the divorce, Katie Holmes was granted primary custody of Suri. Despite being awarded ample visitation with his daughter, it is an option that the award-winning actor has seemingly failed to exercise.
Suri Cruise Future Plans
Suri is now 17 and looking forward to college next year. Katie recently stated that Suri is already applying to schools and wants to study fashion. Sources close to Katie told the Daily Mail, “Suri is applying to schools everywhere. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,’ the insider shared, adding that Katie is ‘overwhelmed’ by the idea of her daughter going off to college.”

Even though Tom Cruise will be footing the bill for Suri’s college education, that is as far as it goes for him. He will not be included in his daughter’s decisions regarding her future. Per the former couple’s divorce agreement, Tom is responsible for paying $400,000 a year to Katie until Suri turns 18.
He also agreed to pay Suri’s expenses, including ‘medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs. The informant also reveals that despite Tom Cruise’s lack of a fatherly presence in Suri Cruise’s life, he has ‘always maintained his responsibilities regarding financial obligations to Katie and Suri.’
