Hugh Jackman wants estranged wife to sign an NDA to get part of his $100 million fortune

According to The Blast, Hugh Jackman and Debra-Lee Furness are navigating their divorce after nearly three decades together. As they look to divide their lives, the “Wolverine” star has allegedly asked his estranged wife to sign an NDA to protect all of the secrets she’s reportedly learned about him during their long relationship.

The NDA would prevent Furness from speaking out about her relationship with Jackman following their divorce. In exchange for her signature, the actor has allegedly offered to be generous with his huge $100 million fortune. He’s allegedly ready to give Furness plenty of money as long as she agrees to the terms of the legal document.

The NDA is said to make Jackman feel secure in protecting his privacy. “The Greatest Showman” actor is known to value keeping his personal life private, and reportedly doesn’t want to have any of his secrets exposed to the media.

“This move is less about the financial aspect and more about retaining control,” an insider said of the situation (via Radar Online). “Hugh’s concern has never been money, but rather control. He’s a man with lots of secrets and doesn’t want any of them exposed.”

NDAs aren’t uncommon in celebrity relationships. Even Taylor Swift is said to have asked boyfriend Travis Kelce to sign the legal document.

Hugh Jackman and Debra-Lee Furness don’t have a prenup

Navigating this divorce could get expense for Hugh Jackman, as he and Debra-Lee Furness didn’t sign a prenup at the beginning of their marriage. A prenup would restrict Furness’ divorce settlement. However, the absence of the document could be costly for Jackman.

“Let’s just say Deb will not need to worry about getting a job,” an insider dished. “She’ll have enough money for the rest of her life — if she signs an airtight non-disclosure agreement.”

The Daily Mail reports that Jackman and Furness’ marriage was hit hard by the COVID pandemic. Their relationship was left strained during lockdown, and it allegedly never recovered. The couple share two children together, Oliver and Ava. Upon announced their divorce, the pair confirmed that they would make no further statements about the split.

It’s likely that Debra-Lee Furness will sign the alleged NDA and that Hugh Jackman’s privacy will be protected. However, fans can help but wonder what kind of information he may be worried about leaking to the media.
