According to Us Weekly, Ian Somerhalder popped the question to Nikki Reed around the holidays and “she accepted with glee. She’s madly in love.”
As for the fact that Ian and Nikki have only been dating for 6 months, an insider revealed that they’ve known each other for a long time.
“They were friends before, the groundwork had been laid before. They had always been attracted to each other, but always in another relationship. It may seem quick, but they knew it was right. They believe in the same things. They are dedicated to their work and helping others.”

Ian Somerhalder split with Nina Dobrev in early 2014 and Nikki Reed recently finalized her divorce from “American Idol” alum Paul MacDonald. So, while they haven’t had a lot of time they seem totally ready to tie the knot.
Now that Ian and Nikki have gotten engaged after only 6 months of dating fans are wondering if they’ll also have a quick wedding, as reports have been surfacing that the couple are considering planning a summer wedding.
