Invincible Season 2: Only Four Episodes Before Another Break

Invincible Season 2 finally has a release date! November 3rd we will finally get to see what Mark and the rest of the heroes are up to. That’s the good news. The bad news is, unfortunately, Season 2 will only be airing its first four episodes. The last four have been said to come out sometime in 2024, but there is no concrete release date for them.

What Is Going on?

Prime Video has not said exactly why this is happening. Having 2.5 years between seasons, it would be very odd if Season 2 still was not done. If it was not complete they would have to wait until the whole writers and actors strike was over. No work is supposed to be done on unfinished projects, and since Prime Video is not giving any information this could be what is happening. As said by Forbes.com.

Fans are not too thrilled about only getting four episodes before yet another big break. This is the sort of thing that Netflix does for big releases. They split the season into two smaller seasons, but the second half comes back within a month or two of the first. This is to keep up conversations about the show. This does not seem like the case for Invincible though.

This is not a binge-release series, the episodes come out weekly. If they were just spreading out the season on purpose, they would not give it an up and the air release date for 2024. They would bring the second half back, let’s say in January. Is this really the best move here? Fans have waited 2 and a half years for Season 2 so if it is not ready yet why not just delay the whole thing? Now that they have a release date they will most likely not be doing that though.

Season 2 Will Still Deliver

There is the addition of an Atom Eve stand-alone episode that came out on July 1st. Things are a bit strange with these blocky releases on Invincible. We have no doubts that Invincible Season 2 will be great. It has good source material and a good cast. The thing that could put a damper on an otherwise great show could be these strange releases.

If this is in fact a strike-related problem, then the whole season should have just been delayed. It is possible that we may get the second half sooner than expected but there is just no information on it as of right now. Invincible Season 2 will start streaming on Prime Video on November 3rd. Four episodes over four weeks. What could we see going forward with this franchise?
