Since the first episode of the Game Of Thrones prequel ‘House Of The Dragon’ has been released fans have already had so many questions and are forming a lot of theories on how the show could play out and what characters we could see or are hinted at.
In the first episode of Game Of Thrones, viewers watch as a group of The Night’s Watch is scouting outside The Wall. They then come upon a group of white walker soldiers and are slaughtered by the beasts.
The show then goes on to build up the Long Night as a very important and dangerous threat to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The Night King may have been dealt with towards the end of Game Of Thrones’ eighth season but HBO’s first spinoff House Of The Dragon takes place almost 200 years before those events.
What do the fans think?
This led fans to believe we might not have seen the last of the Night King and maybe he will make an appearance in House Of The Dragon as it was already hinted at in the first episode.
For those who have watched the first episode the Long Night gets named, dropped out of the blue while Viserys I is talking to his daughter Rhaenyra about the prophecy that each Targaryen monarch has carried since Aegon’s conquest.
Could this just be a nod to Game Of Thrones or is this something more? Could we be getting more Night King action in House Of The Dragon?
Just because the Targaryens know of the Long Night does not mean we will definitely see the Night King, but if the showrunner and the writers plan on making the Whitewalkers a recurring plot point we might get to see Winterfell once again in House of The Dragon. We have already seen a Stark in the first episode as one is heard pegging his loyalty to the king and his daughter as he named Rhaenyra as his new heir to the Iron Throne.
How would he fit into the story?
If we do see the Night King in House Of The Dragon he would have to play a fairly small role to keep the continuity of Game Of Thrones in order and not mess up any of the plot points to keep the fans happy. But for now, we will just have to wait and see what happens as we all wait for episode two of House Of The Dragon.
