Ivana Trump has died. The ex-model and former wife of President Donald Trump passed away at the age of 73 on July 14 (via ABC News). Donald and Ivana married in 1977 and shared three children together, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump. The couple later divorced in 1992.
Ivana’s children confirmed the news in a heartbreaking statement.

“Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend,” the Trump family said in the statement.
“Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination,” the family said. “She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren,” the statement concluded.
According to CNBC, Ivana died in a tragic accident where she suffered major injuries to her torso, per the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Reports revealed that Trump’s death and injuries were thought to be brought about by a fall on the stairs. However, no foul play was suspected in her passing.
Donald and Ivana married in 1977, and she soon began to play a part in helping her husband run his empire. She held many positions at his companies. However, the couple divorced in 1990 after rumors that Donald had an affair with Marla Maples, who went on to become his second wife.
