Jacob Elordi has become one of the hottest men in Hollywood. The Aussie actor has delighted fans with his roles in TV shows such as “Euphoria” and his portrayal of Elvis Presley in “Priscilla.” However, there is one role that Elordi didn’t exactly love, and fans are reeling from his confession.
Jacob Elordi regrets starring in The Kissing Booth films
Jacob Elordi might be known for his more mainstream roles. However, before playing Nate Jacobs and Elvis Presley, the actor caught the attention of fans as Noah Flynn in “The Kissing Booth” films. The Netflix trilogy co-starred Joey King, Joel Courtney, Taylor Zahar Perez, and Molly Ringwald.
The movies revolve around Elle (King) as she finds an unexpected romance with Noah (Elordi), who is the older brother of her best friend Lee (Courtney). The relationship causes problems between Elle and Lee. Meanwhile, life gets in the way as Elle and Noah try to keep their relationship together during ups and downs.
While fans loved Elordi’s portrayal of Noah Flynn in the films, the actor was less enthusiastic about the role.
“I didn’t want to make those movies before I made those movies,” the actor told GQ. “Those movies are ridiculous. They’re not universal. They’re an escape,” he added.
Elordi appeared in the movies hoping for better roles
“The Kissing Booth” was one of Jacob Elordi’s first movies. He eventually signed on for two sequels to the film. However, the actor wasn’t happy about appearing in the movies.
“My ‘one for them,’ I’ve done it,” the actor described the situation of signing on for the films in hopes of getting better roles down the road. Elordi added that the mentality can become “a trap” because “it can become 15 for them, none for you. You have no original ideas, and you’re dead inside. So it’s a fine dance.”
Of course, Elordi did eventually get better roles. He’s now become an in-demand actor in Hollywood. He’s receiving critical acclaim for his roles, and his star continues to rise.

Meanwhile, “The Kissing Booth” films weren’t all terrible for Elordi at the time. The actor fell for his co-star Joey King on the set of the films. The pair were an adorable couple, but eventually called it quits in 2020, per Us Weekly.
“I was just best friends with Jacob. I guess there was no moment, but I feel like the friendship kind of naturally was like, ‘Oh, hey, this person is super frickin’ awesome. We have so much in common and we really love spending time together,” King previously told Seventeen of her relationship with Elordi. “We were open books with each other. There was nothing we wouldn’t talk about. He’s just so great.
Jacob Elordi went on to date his “Euphoria” co-star Zendaya before moving on to model Kai Gerber. Gerber is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. Although the actor may not love his role in “The Kissing Booth,” fans continue to enjoy the rom-com.
