Say it isn’t so! Rumors are flying that Jamie Dornan will not be back for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel films “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” which are the meat of the entire trilogy as far as the story line. Dornan is ready to quit his role as Christian Grey because his wife allegedly is uncomfortable with him in such a racy role. (Did she not read the book before he took the part?)
Jamie Dornan Quitting ‘Fifty Shades of Grey?’
Movie Pilot reports that Jamie Dornan’s wife, Amelia Warner, the mother of Jamie’s 15-month-old daughter, is unhappy with the extreme sexual content of the films and her husband’s new sex symbol status, which is something she should have probably thought about and expressed to her husband before he decided to tackle the racy role.
“Jamie said the movie would skyrocket his career. He tried to assure Amelia nothing would change but women all over the world now lust after Jamie. She hasn’t seen the film and I don’t think she will to be honest,” a source revealed.
If Dornan were to quite the “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise it would be a huge blow. Recasting the main character, and lets face it the moneymaker of the series, after the first film has been released could be suicide for the franchise, which co-stars actress Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.
Film Losing The Director As Well?
Those fans who have seen “Fifty Shades” know that it was Dakota who was showing the most skin. In fact, Jamie Dornan’s nakedness was brief compared to Johnson’s skin baring. However, the sex scenes were extremely steamy and the content was extremely adult.
Meanwhile, “Fifty Shades of Grey” may also be losing it’s director. Metro reports that Sam Taylor-Johnson the films director clashed with the books’ author E.L. James and may not be back to direct the final two films in the series.
If all of this is going on will there even be any more “Fifty Shades of Grey” films? If not, fans will be wickedly disappointed.
