Jane Fonda is going through a serious medical scare. The “Frankie and Grace” star is battling a skin cancer on her face and fears she will be scarred for the rest of her life. The Netflix star was recently spotted out and about with bandages below her bottom lip and chin following a painful and frightening skin cancer surgery according to the National Enquirer.

Pals close to Jane Fonda have revealed that the star is just terrified that the surgery will leave nasty scars on her face. While scarring should be the last thought on Jane’s mind, it goes without saying that she worries it will affect her looks and career. There was no hiding her bandages and when asked by the press about them she said, “I don’t normally go around like this. I thought it was going to heal in time before I came.”

Jane has face cancer scares before, in 2011 the 80-year-old actress went through a terrifying breast cancer scare. According to a New York internist, Dr. Stuart Fischer states that skin cancer is one of the easiest to treat and is curable if caught in time. Dr. Fischer added that though he has never treated Jane Fonda with proper treatment he believes Jane could come through this with little to no permanent scarring.
Jane Fonda’s skin cancer is reportedly is dangerous after affect of years of sun damage. Fonda is not the only big name celebrity to have battled skin cancer. Celebrities battling skin cancer include “Wolverine” star Hugh Jackman, Ryan O’Neal, “Shameless” star William H. Macy, Brooke Sheilds, Regis Philbin, Cybil Shepard, Anderson Cooper and Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner to name a few.
Cancer.org states that skin cancer accounts for close to half of all cancers in the United States with more than 3 million cases diagoised each year. We wish Jane Fonda a full and speedy recovery and urge everyone to remember to always use sunscreen.
