Jared Padalecki is one-half of Supernatural’s iconic Winchester brothers. The actor starred as Sam Winchester in the fan-favorite series. Actor Jensen Ackles co-starred with him as his older brother Dean Winchester. The show ran for 15 seasons and gained a huge fanbase in the process.
Over the years, Jared Padalecki saw tons of drama as Sam on Supernatural. Sam and Dean killed so many different kinds of monsters like vampires, werewolves, and more. However, they also had their share of emotional moments. For Padalecki, some unlikely moments are likely more emotional for him now than they were at the time of filming.
Jared Padalecki gets real about one Supernatural episode
In fact, the actor has even revealed that there is one episode in particular that he hopes his children never ever watch, and for good reason. During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Padalecki admitted that the Supernatural episode “Lucifer Rising” is one he doesn’t want his kids to see, per Looper.
In the Season 4 episode, it’s revealed that Sam is not only working with Dean, but a demon named Ruby. The character is played by Genevieve Cortese, who later went on to fall in love and get married to Padalecki. In one scene, Sam is forced to choose between Dean and Ruby. Of course, he chooses his brother. Sam then holds Ruby while Dean kills her by stabbing her with a demon-killing knife.
Jared Padalecki explained that he never wants his children to see the episode, claiming it would seem that their father and their “Uncle Jenson” were killing their mommy. Meanwhile, Kimmel joked that Padalecki’s kids probably shouldn’t even watch the scene as adults.
Jared and Genevieve Padalecki worked together again on Walker
Jared and Genevieve Padalecki currently have three children together, sons Austin and Thomas, as well as daughter Odette (via Yahoo). The pair are obviously busy parents with three kids. However, they’re also busy with their careers. The actor is currently starring on the series “Walker,” and his wife even portrays the role of Emily, Walker’s late wife.
Meanwhile, Jared Padalecki loved working with his wife again and gushed over having her on set with him. “Being able to show her off to the cast and crew was awesome,” he revealed, per People Magazine.
It’s easy to understand why Jared Padalecki wouldn’t want his children to see the scene involving Ruby’s death in Supernatural. However, the kids have to know that the show is also why their parents fell in love and got married to begin with.
