Joe Perry Of Aerosmith Collapses, Rushed To Hospital In NYC

Joe Perry of Aerosmith was rushed to an NYC hospital on Saturday night after performing with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden.

Joe Perry was wheeled out of the Madison Square Garden’s arena on a stretcher by emergency medical professionals according to TMZ reports. Perry had just finished “Walk This Way” with Billy Joel on stage and was heading back to his dressing room when he began to fall ill. Concert personnel on the scene spoke with TMZ telling them that Joe collapsed and looked terrible.”

911 was called and paramedics arrived on the scene spending 40 minutes with  Perry in his dressing room before transporting the legendary rocker to the hospital. Paramedics reportedly administered a tracheal tube in Perry’s throat to clear the airway. Joe’s family and friends among with MSG concert promoters were said to be in a panic.

One eyewitness says “Joe did not look good.”

Emergency responders put the 68-year-old on a stretcher, gave him oxygen and rushed him to a hospital. At this time Joe is “doing well” according to a tweet from Sirius XM host Eddie Trunk tweeted on Saturday that he heard Perry was “doing well today.”

“Sending my best to rock icon and friend @JoePerry,” wrote Trunk. ⁦”Joe was just with me on my last radio special from LA. I’m hearing he’s doing well today thankfully! Be well Joe!!”

At this time reps for Perry have reportedly not responded to People magazine’s request for comment. This is not the first time in recent years that Joe Perry has collapsed causing alarm.

In 2016 Perry collapsed on stage during a concert with the Hollywood Vampires. Frontman for the Vampires, Alice Cooper stated, Perry was diagnosed as suffering from dehydration and exhaustion. The singer believes the longtime Aerosmith guitarist was unprepared for the hectic pace of the Hollywood Vampire’s tour.

“Aerosmith does two shows a week, but we were on our eighth show in nine days, and I’m used to working like that,” Cooper tells Rolling Stone. “I think Joe was not ready for that kind of pace.
