John Travolta & Daughter Ella Perform ‘Grease’ Dance In Super Bowl Commercial

John Travolta and his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, 20, will be dancing alongside each other in a new Super Bowl commercial for Scotts Miracle-Gro according to Pop Culture.com.

John and Ella will be combining forces, paying tribute to Travolta‘s 1978 “Grease” character Danny Zuko. The father/daughter duo will be re-enacting the dance that he and “Grease” co-star Olivia Newton-John showcased more than four decades ago.

Big-name celebrities including Martha Stewart, Leslie David Baker, Carl Weathers, NASCAR’s Kyle Busch, and fitness instructor Emma Lovewell will also make cameo appearances during the ad. The Travolta’s dance scene will be set to Surfaces’ “Sunday Best.”

Football fans across the country are counting down until Sunday, February 7th’s big game. Kickoff for Super Bowl LV is at 6:30 p.m. on CBS.  Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan will be performing this year’s National Anthem opener.

Grammy-winning artist H.E.R. will also be performing ahead of kick-off, singing “America the Beautiful” before things get underway. Performing at this year’s halftime show is The Weeknd. 

Football fans look forward to Sunday’s big game

Every year football fans look forward to Super Bowl Sunday, not only for the football competition but, getting together with friends and family, and for the entertaining Super Bowl commercials.

John Travolta and “Grease” fans will enjoy seeing the actor cut loose with his daughter. While many fans already know the past year has been an extremely hard one for the family.

In July, the Travolta’s mourned the loss of John’s wife and Ella’s mother actress Kelly Preston. Preston sadly lost her private battle with breast cancer. John announced Kelly’s tragic passing to his Instagram followers. Thanking fans, he also revealed he would be taking time off to spend with his children during this difficult time.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.  My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.  But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal.”

Over the past several month’s John has often paid tribute to his late wife on his Instagram page.

In August, John shared a very touching video dancing with Ella in honor of her late mother captioning the clip, “My daughter @ella.travolta and I dancing in memory of momma. One of Kelly’s favorite things, dancing with me.” 

John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s love story began in 1988. Preston spoke often calling him ‘her person.” Preston noted dancing with him as well as Travolta’s lips, laughing and having fun as some of the best things about being married to him during  a “Watch What Happens Live” appearance.

She said they danced “all the time.”

The couple had an enduring love story in Hollywood, a tough accomplishment as a celebrity couple surviving tragedy and celebrating each others’ successes.

Their relationship and family life were the most important and sacred to them. Since Kelly’s passing John Travolta has stayed true in keeping those aspects of his life his main priorities.

The Super Bowl, which sees the Kansas City Chiefs face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, airs Sunday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET. It can be watched on CBS and streamed free on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports App.
