Jon Gosselin regrets how his divorce with Kate Gosselin went down

Just two months after revealing his battle with COVID, Jon now reveals he has been diagnosed with a DVT, (deep vein thrombosis) blood clot in his leg.

Following Dr. Oz’s detailed talk on the severity of Jon’s blood clot, the DR asked Jon what his biggest regret would have been he would have died while hospitalized?

It did not take Jon Gosselin long to answer. He said he had given this question much thought over the past few months. First off Jon stated he has regrets.

One of his biggest regrets has to do with his divorce from Kate.

“My biggest regret would have been changes I made before the divorce,” he said. “I probably still would have got divorced but I probably would have tried to have been like, ‘hey let’s just more stay in contact’ … I would have made it more adamant maybe through the court system or something like that.”

Only two of the eight kids speak to Jon Gosselin

Next Jon reflected on his relationships or lack of with his eight children. Jon has custody of two of the sextuplets Hannah and Collin. He reveals his relationship with his other six children is very strained.

He admitted to DR, Oz that looking back he would have never have believed he would be in a place where he was estranged from the kids, and they were not speaking to him.

“I thought we’d always be close…but that didn’t pan out the way I thought it would pan out,” he said.

He reveals it was hurtful that after his COVID hospitalization he did not hear anything from Alexis, Joel, Leah, Aaden, or Maddie and Cara.

Jon described the relationships as disconnected.

” I can’t really reach out to them and there are legalities,” he said. “I can’t like go to where they move, you know? It’d be trespassing and those kinds of things, so I mean, I guess my plight to them or what I want to say is I love you, my door is always open, you’re welcome anytime. There’s no regrets or hard feelings or any of those negative things … you can always come see me or come see Hannah and Collin.”

As for Kate Gosselin, she is going through a similar situation with Hannah and Collin. “Kate has not seen Hannah in a year or two, while Collin hasn’t seen Kate “in years.”

Jon hopes one day to change things

Jon also reveals that Collin and Hannah were very upset that Kate did not give them a chance to walk through their old house before it was sold. He claims despite the majority of his children not speaking to him he does keep track of them through social media.

DR, Oz asked Jon the tough question: why isn’t he making the effort to reach out to his children himself? Jon claims he has attempted contact with them through every known measure available. He adds he is now leaving the choice up to them.

“I’m opening my house in open arms and if they’re willing to come.”

When reflecting on the current situation with his kids.”

Money still plays a huge part in Jon’s decisions adding he fears the financial ramifications of “going against someone who’s a millionaire.”

“Who, me?!”

“Fear plays a big part in that, you know,” he said. “Like OK, what’s best for [the kids]? What’s best for me? How am I going to maintain a household if I have to spend all this money to go to court to fight for them? Who’s going to stay? It’s not just one person, you’re dealing with eight different lives all the time.”

It has been a hard time for all the Gosselin relationship-wise. But it is never too late maybe one day the Gosselin children can all reunite and work out their differences with each of their estranged parents.
