Jujutsu Kaisen: How Does Gojo’s Hollow Purple Work?

Satoru Gojo is the strongest sorcerer alive in Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Even Gojo’s enemies would prefer to seal him away rather than try to kill him. He is revealed as the first child to be born with the legendary Six Eyes in over 400 years. Satoru is the pride of his clan, and quickly climbed the ranks to crush any opponent that dared to cross him. 

What Can Gojo Do?

Gojo’s Limitless allows him to use a very wide arsenal of techniques. He is able to fully utilize them thanks to the Six Eyes. Cursed Techniques can be very rare. and not everyone is born with one, like Yuji Itadori. However, one technique clearly stands out above the rest, and that is Gojo’s Hollow Purple.

Fans get a glimpse of its power in Season 1 as he tries to exorcize a curse from afar. However, the series has yet to explain how Gojo creates such a masterful move. 

According to Dexerto, Satoru’s Hollow purple technique is the colliding Limitless. This is a very powerful ability that only a select few of the Gojo clan know. Hollow Purple brings the concept of motion and reversal into reality. The technique looks purple due to the fusing of two infinities of red and blue. By doing this, Gojo creates an imaginary mass that shoots forward and destroys anything in its path. 

Gojo’s cursed technique, Lapes Blue, makes the concepts of negative numbers and negative distance real. It compels real space to compensate and fill the gaps by pulling everything toward impossibility. It basically creates a very strong force of attraction, like a big magnet.

The cursed technique, Reversal Red, is powered by positive energy. It is created by a reverse curse technique instead of the negative cursed energy. This reverses the impact of the boosted Limitless technique, giving off a very strong repelling force. 

How Does He Combine Red And Blue?

To combine red and Blue, Jujustu Kaisen fans know that Gojo needs to make a hand sign that extends his pointer and pinky fingers outward while the rest are folded back. To use Hollow Purple, the fan-favorite character then switches his hand sign to a pinching motion using his pointer and thumb while extending his middle finger. 

Cursed energy is very important in Jujutsu Kaisen. It powers all the attacks of a Jujutsu Sorcerer or a Curse User. Curse techniques and weapons are also the only things that can hurt the cursed villains.

With Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen being released every week, maybe fans can get more insight into Satoru Gojo’s Limitless and cursed techniques as the story continues to unfold.
