Perry portrayed the role of Chandler Bing on the iconic TV series for ten seasons. During that time, he acted alongside Roberts when she made a cameo on the show as a love interest for Perry’s character.

Matthew Perry and Julia Roberts briefly dated

In 2022, Matthew Perry wrote about his connection with Roberts for his memoir, “Friends, Lovers,” and the Big Terrible Thing.” In the book, Perry revealed that Roberts agreed to appear in an episode, but only if she could work with Perry.

“Not only did Julia agree to do the show, but she also sent me a gift: bagels — lots and lots of bagels,” he wrote. “I did let her in, both figuratively and literally, and a relationship began. We would already be a couple by the time we started filming the Friends Super Bowl episode.”

However, Perry revealed that he later called things off with Roberts because he had self-esteem issues.
