Kailyn Lowry has decided that she will cut back on Christmas this year. The former “Teen Mom” star recently welcomed the arrival of her sixth and seventh child earlier this week. The reality television personality gave birth to twins, a son and a daughter, less than a year after she welcomed her fifth child, son Rio.
Kailyn Lowry: Skimping Christmas
Since the holidays are rapidly approaching, Kailyn Lowry took to Instagram to ask her followers for holiday advice. She informed her fans this year; that she decided to cut back on Christmas for her seven children.
This is not the first time Kailyn has cut back or canceled celebrating Christmas altogether for her family. Last year, Kailyn announced that she had canceled Christmas at her house. As you can imagine, this announcement caused the former “Teen Mom” star a lot of static from her fans.

Kailyn explained last year that she had a good reason for skipping out on the holiday. She explained that since her sons’ fathers all lived in different states, all the traveling was taking too much of a toll on the children. Per The Sun she claims it was just too much.
“The most important reason I gave up Christmas was for my kids,” she said. “It just constantly felt like it was an argument about who’s gonna get the kids, who’s gonna keep them, who’s gonna have Christmas Eve, who’s gonna have Christmas Day.
“And even though it’s in the custody order, we all want our kids for the holiday. I get it. I want my kids to go experience Christmas with their dads. They all do fun things for the holidays, and they all have really big families,” she said.
Kailyn Lowry Trades Christmas For Vacations
Instead of worrying about getting through the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, she opts for a more leisurely celebration.
Kailyn takes her children on an elaborate annual vacation in the summer. “It’s like Christmas in July, and we do a ton of stuff,” the 16 & Pregnant alum explained.
“We usually stay two or three weeks in whatever country or island we’re visiting. So to me, that’s their Christmas gift, and it really works out for us.”
Mixing Things Up This Year
Kailyn Lowry wants to change things up this year. So she has decided that instead of skipping Christmas altogether, they would have a minimal holiday celebration. She says she will cut out gifts and opts to do a stocking-only Christmas at her house with her seven children.
The busy mom took to Instagram to tell her fans that she announced to her children, that they would do Christmas this year. However, it will be cut back. They will only be receiving stockings and stocking stuffers.
Kailyn Lowry also asks her followers for some stocking stuffing tips. She posted a wallpaper of Christmas lights doodles and captioned her Instagram Story: “I told the kids we would do Christmas this year!”
She explained: “Doing stockings – no big gifts – send all practical/meaningful stocking stuffers.”
