Actress Lindsay Lohan‘s family is making news headlines. First, Lindsay’s estranged stepmom Kate Major ended 2022 on a sour note. Major picked up her third DUI on Friday, 2022, in Texas. Kate Major is the wife of Lindsay Lohan’s dad Michael Lohan. Major’s charges stem from an arrest last month in Shenandoah, Texas.
Per TMZ, during a routine drive-through, officers discovered Major sitting in her car alone with the motor running around 2 am. Officers stated when they approached the vehicle, there was a strong and distinct smell of alcohol coming from Majors.
Kate Major Finds Herself In Hot Water Again
Kate told the police that she was driving around to find a friend with whom she had argued. Officers conducted a field sobriety which Kate Major failed.
Since this is Kate’s third DUI, she was booked and charged with felony DWI charges. In 2014 Major was arrested in Florida, and her most recent until now was in 2020, in New York.
Kate Major has a long history of alcohol issues.
Major is still married to actress Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan. The couple married in October 2014. Despite their long and troubling history, the couple has yet to divorce. In 2015 Major filed for a legal separation from Michael Lohan after claiming he deliberately attempted to sabotage her rehab stay by sneaking a cell phone into her in a stuffed teddy bear during a visit.
The estranged couple shares two sons, Landon Lohan, 9, and Logan Lohan, 7. In 2015 the couple lost custody of their sons. Michael Lohan’s mom, Marilyn Lohan, was awarded temporary custody of the boys.
Kate Major’s Long History Of Trouble With The Law & The Lohans
At that time, Kate Major and Michael Lohan were only allowed supervised visits. They were also ordered to take anger management classes. It is unclear presently as to whether or not Michael’s mom retains custody at this time.
So far, neither Michael nor Lindsay Lohan has commented on Kate major’s recent arrest. However, fans know Lindsay Lohan appears to have come a long way from her wild party girl days. The Mean Girls star fell off the paparazzi’s radar for a few years.
She has recently made her return after getting her life together. Today Lindsay Lohan has signed on with Netflix for a three-picture deal. She also claims she is happy and content. Lohan says she prefers her low-key life to her former party-girl ways.
Lindsay Lohan Puts Her Bad Girl Days Behind Her
Lindsay is now married to financier Bader Shammas. The couple currently resides in Dubai. Lohan says she has never been happier. Marriage must agree with Lindsay because it has been a good minute since the singer/actress has been in trouble.
During the highlight of her bad girl days from 2007-2013, Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to jail six times for a total of 332 days. However, the former Disney darling ultimately served 42 days and 84 minutes of jail time and 35 days on house arrest.
Unfortunately, Lindsay’s new outlook on life hasn’t seemed to rub off on her family members. Besides her stepmom Kate Major’s current legal issues, Lindsay’s mom, Dina Lohan’s last DUI arrest, took place in 2020.
As for Michael Lohan’s latest run-in with the law, it was in April 2021. Michael’s most recent arrest is for six charges of patient brokering. He was accused of bringing addicts to drug treatment centers in Florida in exchange for illegal kickbacks.
Hopefully, 2023 will work out better for Lindsay Lohan’s family members. But time will tell.
