Kim Kardashian‘s close friend Chris Appleton and his husband Lukas Gage have filed for divorce. The couple were married for six months before calling it quits, and some fans think that the reality star’s involvement in their wedding may have jinxed the couple.

Kim Kardashian officiated the wedding of her hairstylist Chris Appleton and his actor beau Lukas Gage. The wedding was featured on last week’s episode of “The Kardashians.” During the episode, Kardashian joked about Appleton asking her to officiate the wedding due to the fact that she’s been divorced three times. The Skims founder also pushed a prenup on her friend at the time.
Just days after the wedding episode aired, Appleton headed to the courthouse to file for divorce from Gage, per TMZ. He cited the date of separation as November 10 and revealed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the split. The couple did have a prenup, perhaps thanks to Kardashian.
Sources tell the outlet that the decision to end the marriage was a difficult one for Appleton. However, he had to end the relationship in his best interest. Sadly, the informant added that the celebrity hairstylist did everything he could to save the relationship before opting for divorce.
Did Kim Kardashian jinx Appleton and Gage’s marriage?
Although Kim Kardashian likely had nothing to do with Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage’s divorce, fans can’t help but connect the dots between her comments and the split.
“Kim officiating it jinxed em, bad marital juju,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “Right? I think this should fall under her list of failed marriages,” another joked. “They were cursed as soon as Kim married them in the same chapel as her failed marriage,” another comment read.

Appleton, 40, and Gage, 28, tied the knot in Las Vegas in April. Of course, Kardashian officiated the wedding. They even had Shania Twain sing “Still The One” at the wedding. The pair’s had a whirlwind romance, going public in February. They got engaged and walked down the aisle just a few weeks later.
While Appleton is known as a celeb hairstylist and a close friend to Kardashian, Gage has also made a name for himself. The actor has appeared in hit TV shows such as “Euphoria,” “The White Lotus,” and had a major role in Season 4 of the Netflix Penn Badgley series “You.”
While Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage’s marriage didn’t work out. It certainly has nothing to do with Kim Kardashian’s involvement in the wedding ceremony. However, the reality star will likely have plenty of divorce advice for her friend as he navigates his split.
